The AIIMS portal is an interactive online resource created to assist MEP staff in implementing their program and ensure continuity in the educational support of migratory students. Join us for an overview of the portal and how it can be utilized to support migratory families and staff. Participants will have time to explore sections and contribute to meaningful improvements to the Parents & Families section.

good morning hello Miss Kayla I see you from yesterday okay I was like oh yes I was just telling them about feel free to stop in unmute I was like it was a whole lot of money voice yesterday which can be a bit much sometimes hopefully hopefully we'll we'll get a little bit of interaction today yes. We want to welcome all of you I'm going to go start sharing my screen to go over a couple of announcements before I turn it over to our presenters and you'll see my screen okay okay perfect so first of all I want to welcome everyone to the Texas migrant in did program migratory student interstate interstate ordination conference the formula to success my name is dr. Nina Gonzales and I will be facilitating this discussion before we begin have a couple of announcements but you can see here on your screen as a reminder this session is being recorded also at the conclusion of this session you will be directed to complete a brief survey to evaluate this. please provide your honest feedback so that we can design future sessions finally please be sure to mute yourself and plays any questions that you may have in the Czech so at this time I will go ahead and stop sharing and I will turn it over to our session presenters who will go ahead and introduce themselves thank you so much cutting up first I would just love to introduce our fearless leader Miss Italia would you like to say something good morning everyone and Happy Valentine's Day my name is he Dolly Banya send I am the program director at the Texas Education Agency I welcome everyone from Texas and from out-of-state thank you so much for joining us we're really excited this morning to be able to provide is very valuable resource that we have until again thank you my name is Sharon Santa I work on the federal state and local initiatives team or a specifically on the Grant a couple of my coworkers are here today Sherry and Jeremy and we work on the map Grant specifically to provide resources to the state and in this case outside the state so we're very happy to be here today and hopefully you will be able to grab something from this and take it back to your school district region worst state to use so thank you so much for coming we're going to go a little bit through the the history of the portal and then we navigate to Porto a little bit hopefully we should have time for some question and answers by all means please use the chat at the beginning I mentioned wanting to you know hear someone else's voice besides my own so we'll take some breaks and hopefully get some feedback from you all as far as if you've used certain pages or sections of the site before and how you would recommend new users to site how they can use it for their own purposes so just for 30 seconds or so can you guys place in the chats you're right whether you're with an l e a and ESC and where you stand on the Ames portal have you ever heard of Ames before give us a little a little idea of what we're working with here I'm going to put in here I'll make sure that I'm a good example so I Am idsc project manager and I'm going to put 5 hopefully I can present on Ames today perfect okay well I'm glad that we do have some people have been on Ames before cuz once again hopefully I'll be using you as a resource for those people who you are today perfect what is the Ames portal it is assisting interstate and intrastate mobile students why do we have it I have to say Texas should be very proud of the resources that it is building to support both the students and families of migratory families as well as of the staff who are there to support an offer services to them so we wanted one location to provide clear and concise procedures as peep for working in the migrant field we all know the extensive list of deadlines and forms and documentation that has to happen and we want to make sure we're all on the same page we also I want to make sure that those families who are moving between states that they have some sort of continuity they are picking up their lives and moving and cheese teachers and friends and we want to make sure that those migrant Services the migrant education program is consistent across the state lines and then finally to provide support for non map staff also support those migratory students and I know from my own experience I worked at a charter school and we didn't get a lot of migratory students and families but we did get a couple and Lord knows I had no idea what to do and what kind of services we could offer them so that would be when Ames can step into the picture and provide some of that support all right so on this cards I'm going to tag team Miss idalia to come in because well I appreciate Ames I am fairly new to it so hopefully Miss Adalia can bring some of the history to how Ames came about thank you Sharon and yes Ames is a an initiative from the Texas Education Agency and it started off as can we think of a way can we develop a process so that we have and our two key words here consistency and continuity across the state and how we address and assist students as they come into our district and leave our district and we started off as a pilot so we had some Ellie a that we brought in and we looked at what were some of the key buckets that we need to focus on that was one of our biggest task to be able to determine what do the things we really want to focus on that are the most Borden we're all aliens to understand as a student are moving from their district and outside their District we also got input from ESC. So there was a lot of stakeholders that headed in the development of the content as we were trying to streamline it and try to determine what are the best things to include in their the most important the most relevant that headed to be a part of this process for all that address the needs of the migratory students thank you so much Miss Adalia so as we begin the presentation work hop out of these this presentation and we're just going to get straight into the Ames portal mostly because that's where you guys want to be anyway so I'm going to hop on over here so I do have a on the Ames landing page that being said many people access Ames through what we call the keymap portal the Texas migrant education program and since we are mostly staff in here thank you Miss Sherry you really do want to kind of bookmark this BX migrant. Net the reason being is there is a small section of this team a portal that is built just for you and it really just makes it a One Stop Shop to find everything you need whether it's a resources within Texas or programs that are nationwide and four ESC Maps. Hopefully you know of the that's the only section please check that one out but for today we are going to say that we can get into the Ames portal from the Mets top side by going to the Eames button here that being said if you are working with families please know that this really easy URL will also get them to a by clicking on the parents and families it will take them to the parents and families section so we're going to come back here to the home so I'll be honest as someone who's fairly new to the migrant side of the world this homepage is kind the the one that you want to take to maybe new staff members at leas or possible teachers who really haven't had any experience with migratory students and I highly highly recommend that you do encourage districts to play these really nice shorts videos the reason being is we know that the location of Migrant students has gone down the numbers say that but I don't think anyone believes it's because they don't exist anymore. There's just a few are migratory students it's just that identification part has become harder so if we can get those teachers and coaches and other people to understand what is the migrant education program and what qualifies students as migratory education they might be able to help us with those without identification process that we are struggling with so as we move on I just kind of want to point out that there are a few different main sections I'm hold on just one second so as we go through here you have the two videos that really just will make sure that everybody knows the basics and then when we come to the about this is really just the explanation of how Remember When Miss Italia was talking about how Ames portal was formed and what buckets they needed what kind of information is given this is the explanation of that information so really we wanted to make it as streamlined as possible this did originated from the idea of like let's make a guidebook guidebooks kind of sit still and everybody wanted to make sure that the resources and information was able to keep up with the population with with the students and families and with the Mets staff I think it was a really good idea Lord knows we just went through covid and that really just changed everything and this was able to adapt with that and make those changes as covid was happening so we do organize this by independent project districts those Ali-A's who have their own projects that they do within their their District SSA member district so those who use Educational Service Centers to offer services on within the region and then the noun project that's probably where my former school was I'm just because we only had one or two so those are those people who might have a couple students but they don't necessarily have that full service to offer but still need to do that lovely documentation side so it's kind of nice that within each of these we have the items there any questions at this point I guess you're thinking of questions just want to make sure that we also with you I mentioned to you pay stub previously about addressing the needs of students but one of the things we have to address its address though sister the students and the different strands that we get in have of the independent project District the district's the Elliott's that take funding to provide Omeprazole and the essays they have a Fiscal Agent which is a service center that provides things on their behalf and they have an arrangement between the two and then the noun projects which may have since but they don't have a net program so we have to address all of those needs and we must stay trying to figure out which of the strands that we need to address this was a lot of communication a lot of feedback that was needed as to what is needed for each type of District thank you so much and when when she talks about that feedback at the a and you guys will be getting a sneak peek at some of the big changes that are going to happen based on that feedback that we have gotten because of the end of the day this exists for your benefit and for stop so and families so we want to make sure it's what you all need some I'm very excited to tell all sneak peek it's right there I'm not sure yet though not yet little bit later so as we come through I want you to point because we're a little bit of a varied group know that if you are working with Ali-A's it's it's really well-organized that like they're not going to necessarily get lost they know that they are out of District they know that they are either an independent or an SFA or a non project so they will be able to find what they need to know a couple of the Moon most important pages and in my mind the first would be going to come into the responsibilities of the independent project District kind of gives the overview oh my gosh okay I have some migrant students what do we need to do I'm so it's kind of walked them through the different items that they must do one of my favorite pages is this timeline of deputies and the reason being once again is it's that clear concise I'm a very visual person so just to kind of see that this two-year process that was news to me you know most of the time we're thinking okay September to August we're good to go but when it comes to the migrant program you really are thinking about that two-year process and funding and what kind of what what what did you get to work with I'm so when we go through this timeline page know that there is a fillable right here which is kind of nice so it's giving you the opportunity to go like okay let's pull this up it's letting you come in and add what you want to do on your campus so you'll notice that some things are not editable that's because they are required but it does give you some really nice bases to add and what you at your District or you at your region can do and how to get everybody with it within the team on the team that Central goal of this is what we need to do to support our students so when we come down it's a nice easy way to follow please know that this aims portal is somewhat of a web but it's because it all connects back to each other so if ever you get lost your write-up and you'll find it again one of the things that I also like at the bottom is the monthly activities so as we all know that documentation and and keeping up with Angie if it can be time-consuming but it is important in the process to make sure we're getting that funding so in addition to all of these activities that we're doing over the year we had those month activities as well so I am going to hop back to this principle page of responsibilities the other page that I really like are the supports available this is kind of a holdover because there's two different pages that this links to and I'm going to open up both here one are the resources specifically for project districts and then one is for families so these are the resources available to MEPS staff we trying to organize this in a way that is as easy for you to find what you need based on what you're looking for so if you notice these icons over here you know we've got a family icon a student Ali-A program assistance if we open these up you'll notice that some of these resources actually have all three icons that means that it is good for schools for students and family so regardless of what you're looking for you're going to be able to find it or if we're just looking for a specific resource we have it listed alphabetically once again this Ames portal started off as a guidebook so you do want to think of it somewhat as of this was built for the newbies but that doesn't mean that some of the veteran MEP staff can't use it especially when it comes to training some of their new weather outside in LA or at a region service center I love that there's yay thank you for the feedback so miss Marquis Marquis us says that she loves that there's a section on ID and responsibilities for non project districts love that as well I'm get to that in just a second so we just looked at the MEPS staff resources side please know that all of the resources specific for families are also going to be on here each one of these it gives a little bit of an overview of what they could use it for and it's just kind of a nice clean version of everything all together we all know how to Google really well that's not a problem but sometimes it's going like oh oh what was that one thing that they do over there and they you know they did this like food bank drive all of those different resources are going to be located in one spot so you don't have to take up that lovely brainpower to find them they're just going to be right here I'm so as we move forward we'll we'll head over to the ESC staff side I do want to point out that what is for each of these items that are under project District similar Pages exist for the SSA member district as well as the noun project because once again well everyone has to be no report the same information different people are going to be responsible for different items based on the type of program you have so each of the pages are a little bit different and they created it that way so that no one confused it's not like oh wait hold on was that for me or that for me so like Miss Marquita said born on Project districts it's really nice that they can come in here to this idea and our responsibilities for non project don't notice it looks a little bit similar but it's much limited much more limited because they don't have as many responsibilities but it is still a very clear concise guide to what they need to be doing oh as we move over to the ESC staff side does anyone have that's on the call has anyone used the l e a staff sign in way that I didn't mention today maybe especially for those who have been around a little bit longer wait time was my hardest thing as an ESL teacher okay 10 seconds after 10 seconds I'm allowed to keep going and yes I did force myself to count send many times Midas so my daughter was able to access the ID and our manual perfect so as we head over to the ESC staff side you'll is that many of the page tiles look very similar to what we saw in the alley a side the reason being is on the LA side okay What The  Ya need to do and now we're specific to what they eat these need to do I will admit sometimes you might get lost with a names because many of the pages sound very similar their titles sound similar but once again we're trying to make brain work go down a little bit to say you don't need to you know search through an entire page and go like which one is my responsibility we separate that out based on who you are and what kind of District you are what kind of project District SSA member or non project so a few of the things that I want to mention on the ESC side would be very talked about the timeline. training and technical assistance that ESC provide so I like this page one clean and crisp a shout-out to Sherry when you find his real clean and crisp Pages my dear friend Miss Sherry was they're going let's clean it up people when we get to the top secret super surprise for you guys later you will see Sherry's test on that one as well Sherry disagrees but we all know it's true so when we come into this steps for planning and conducting training sessions and meeting it really does break it down into which end of training and which kind of information eses should be pass it on to those districts I didn't ask today I'm so sorry in the chat if anyone is from out of state can you just put your state in the chat for me yesterday I had quite a few from Arkansas and from Michigan and I want to make sure I'm not ignoring your just while so my apologies on that one actually Arkansas okay so I keep talking about Educational Service Centers I don't know if those exist in Arkansas but if you have some sort of centralized support for school districts when I say Education Service Centers that's what I'm talkin about I'm just due to the size of Texas we kind of break it down into those 20 Legion so just know that if you're coming more from the Central State of Arkansas that's every time I say ESC that's who I'm talking about you so when you think about what you need to do for training for those people on an out-of-district these are broken down into the nine different areas whether that is cic continuous Improvement cycle Essa the Consolidated application the overview of the program and it goes through each one of the it's very very friendly in terms of what you need to teach them on and then hold on and then we also have this little section down at atom of other trainings that could be given to the LA so I mentioned my my dear friend Miss Sherry the reason why is she is also the one who kind of heads-up to work on a BB which is a bright beginning in Early Childhood Program for students who are identified as my or their families are identified as a migratory family but they are not in a pre-k program so we have that information here whether its home base or center-based if you are offering that program as one of your migrant Education Services there's a whole other section I'm going to actually I'll show you that section real quick let me go home over here there's a whole section on a bright beginning on a bright beginning and how you can get tray or have the instructors trained on this program I'm so this is where that information would be located it also has information on Project smart which is a summer student program it is specific to math although there are resources now added for reading once again in that same area of that met staff you'll see a page for project smart so if that is not a program that you currently offer or your leasing not currently offer please know that there is an Nation here that you can get to start implementing that can I just jump in and say one thing about that for our out-of-state Partners we do have several participate in Project smart and they offer it in their state for the Texas migratory students that are there during the summer and Arkansas is one of those dates I'm so that one once again if you go to that home page that little clean URL TX migrant. Net you'll come over here to met staff and just like we could go into a game you can also go into that project smart I'm so like Miss Italia said we're trying to keep things consistent and that continuity for are migratory students so if we can keep that education going over the summer and have these specifically project smart utilized for our students that is our goal that's that would make us very happy I'm so we do have other trainings that can be given by Elias for the the purposes the next page that I want to peek at are the steps for planning and conducting meetings and that would be oh no want to come over here oh no this is not looking good for me I will say that when you are struggling to find things we do have a complete webinar series and it was about an hour and a half yes that took place last year and you'll notice that all of these are lovely check pointed out so if you are struggling to find something in terms of like oh I really need information on parent and family engagement you can come over here to the video and find information specific to that and you'll notice it does go through each one of these have a navigating the Ames portal video so whether you're in LA or an ESC regardless of which type of pro District you are there is a video there to help you walk through and and find what you need I want to go ahead and I wouldn't just add something my apology Sherry I wanted to just add that the reason for Sharon trying to figure out okay where is this is because we have a lot of information there is so much and our biggest I don't want to call it a challenge it's a good problem is trying to figure out what is it that we need and where do we need it because we have so much there and we're constantly continuously getting feedback on to how to better how to make the navigation better in here the team is cuz it's a team that we work with with a region 20 to help us figure this out and you see part of the team here today and so just wanted to explain that there is so much and it's easy to just like going into a candy store and say okay where do I start what do I want sorry Jerry no problem I'm just going to piggyback on that because because of that one of the early feedback that we got is requesting that A to Z and x and I was just going to say that's another place if you're looking for something very specific topic you can go to the A to Z index and just look up you know whatever that is and then the link will be there for you that's another way that you can try and find something quickly thank you yes I forgot that was one one of our former colleagues was the one to kind of get this one together and that was her favorite part was I know it's a lot but we we did this for you so note to self make sure we're using the tools that were given so one of the things that now I lost my tab it's right here the next page that I really wanted to highlight was the steps for planning and conducting train sessions in meeting so it really just kind of breaks it down into maybe during the summer what you should be doing how to get the people into your sessions migrants is a small but powerful group of people but sometimes it is kind of hard to get them into training I'm so just kind of gives a few pointers on how to conduct those trainings make sure that they meet the necessary requirements and documentation purposes and then finally I wanted to look at I'm coordinating efforts between tssaa member districts and their fiscal agents that's the next page that I wanted to highlight so just in case we're not all familiar those SSA member disc are those who have the funds or who are accepting funds for their migratory students but are not hosting projects within the district they give that money to the Education Service Hunters who will then offer you all that money together and offer services to all of those migratory students and you'll notice that this picture looks a little familiar I'm some of the topics are similar but this is going to be that page where were marrying okay SSA members and the ESC how are they working together we have some of those buckets that we talked about whether it's the essay Consolidated application the m6 since we have an Arkansas person here is not just the Texas and dies it's also that M6 system and each one of these will give a little bit information about what needs to happen between that district and the ESC so it's it is a lot of information and that's where it we always have to go back to go. This used to be a very very fat guy book a very fat guy book so it's a little bit tough sometimes to put that into a website but at least with this we can always be updating it one of the things that we are looking for is continually making it easier for you so I will say that if you would like to share your feedback we have the same portal feedback and I really want to point out at the bottom do you have any suggestions or if you have something that is used in your area or if you are confused about something that is on the site let us know whether we you know talk about it within the team will take it to the Texas that you can an agency methodology and her team to make sure that we fix that for you that's share your feedback is across the site and you really do appreciate it it has already changed and improved I think from the the first iteration a lot and we are going section-by-section and making sure that we continue to make those changes and next weekend and look at a few pages for the Elliot staff and the esses see stuff I'm going to do my 10 seconds wait time does anyone have any questions thoughts about those two sections that we have talked about before I get into the parents and family section this is Diana I just want to say that I am really glad that you talked about this is this a lot and I learned I didn't know so I'd appreciate it thank you so very much thank you Miss Tianna I appreciate it I laugh because Lord knows my team members know I can talk a lot so getting me to like for other people to come in it is it is a challenge but I'm glad to hear that you are learning something at the end of the day this whole conference is hopefully within each presentation you can steal are two things and take it back and because those migrant numbers that identification is going down we all know that you're now wearing many hats and you don't necessarily have the same time or brainpower to devote especially probably as much as you want to so if we can make something easier that's our goal so thank you for for your comment I'm so as we going to the parents and families section Cherrywood should I show him the top secret super surprise well I just want to give a little bit of a background so one of the things we discovered there used to be from the Tema portal the parents and family button what had been split into two separate I guess buttons and you could click and go to a team appearance and family page and then a names parents do families page and there was a lot of old and so what we did was basically everything that was encapsulated on the team at Paige's originally were already in the Ames pages and so now that button that's on keymap portal that for parents and families takes them directly here because some of the feedback that we got said parents and families would never click that aims button because they wouldn't be on the map staff side so it's to drive them here we just made the team about and take them directly here and then we got further feedback and end it was kind of recently the summer people were saying they wished that the parents and families were set up more like the MEP staff side with just all of the easy click buttons and so that's what in the background we've been working on and and sending to tea for approval on so we have a lot of it design just now have to build it and make it live so when Sharon's taking you to the parents and family side now just know that it's going to look different with in probably the next few months we hope to get it washed and everything we did I was with the lens of making it more user-friendly for parents and families that would actually that you can send them to the site and it would be very user-friendly for them so in part of that continuous Improvement mindset we did recently completely change platforms some of the feedback that we had gotten was okay there's a lot of good stuff for migratory parents and families but it doesn't look good on cell phone you know it's it gets all jumbled up that you do it just it doesn't work I'm so we recently moved platforms to try to make it more cell phone friendly because let's be honest most of the instead you know that are we are working with at this point are not on a laptop they're on their phone and so we do need to get that information to them in a clean consistent way so I'm I'm I think I'm going to start with this is what it's going to be that way they they know what's coming so in just maybe I feel like this homepage is just a few weeks away when peasants family's land on the new home page that we are building and I will there we go that's about the right size right they will have seven different options. what we found out is while the information is amazing it it was a very overwhelming for many parents and families all the words coming at them so we currently working through to try to simplify finding the information that they want and then also simplify the language you know how many migratory families are Learners I will point out that we do have an English Spanish we have Google for all languages Google is not perfect but we love it for what it is but English-Spanish button up here if you look on the Real Page when we push that Spanish button it is an actual new page that was translated by a human I'm just to make sure that the information is accurate to 200% so I'm the new landing page we did break it down by just explaining what the migrant education program is Olive lovely MEP staff were or I think about our our our lovely mom's on the committee who go out there and help us get more families in here they can go talk to you know some people working in the in the farms and say like hey here's the program it's going to pop up on their phones they can just click click and it's there also the academic support so that's going to be focused on resources and information for the services or kindergarten through 12th but we also have the College and Career so getting out of high school and what time out-of-school youth is focused on the K-12 hopefully not but Cade 12 and what is happening if those students are no longer in school Family Support resources it's going to be communities Community Resources educational resources things that the family can use as their moving across state lines or whether they need help with housing help you name it all the resources will be located here and then we wanted a specific button for moving soon obviously these families are very moving but we want to make sure that they are thing all the different items that they need to do before moving and then once they get to their new location who should they be talking to what should they be brute mean so this is what the new parents and families home page will look like we do also will include the newsletter button here I'm just in case those families would like that so when we come back to the current page my turn it back to the English section when we come back to the section you'll notice that a lot of the information that I just mentioned is is already here we have the what is the map and qualifying for the map the funding before leaving your District when you arrive to the district and then the different categories better up here the academic support out-of-school youth assistance and preparation after graduation you will notice that those are connected to these buttons down here for families to find what they needed it's all the way at the bottom that kind of the reason why I like we're looking at it great stuff but we just need to make sure parents are funny what they need as quickly as possible shout out to the team though because the videos that they created really go step-by-step through each of the major areas of questions whether it's an apparent site or even a teacher side I feel like these are also really beneficial for teachers who are often those you know first line of defense heaters with parents each of the videos is in Spanish and English and with a transcript so they're short videos route to 24 minutes long so it's nothing crazy but if nothing else you can send these videos out to staff once again thinking of those new people and new Rost we have a lot people leaving education and a lot of people coming into new roles that they don't have the background knowledge of what is a so it's they're actually pretty fun considering you know content-wise it's pretty straightforward and a dry but they're a nice easy way to get to know what they need and once again those are also in Spanish so if you have recruiters who are out in the field they can go through and be showing this to parents or sending it out to the lake hey do you qualify or will your students qualify and then also hopefully teachers staff L ES I'm concerned these with parents before they're they're moving so the other items that I really want to go into for the parents and family section is this academic support so the academic support this is probably going to be the one of the more popular Pages for parents and families to want to get on the reason being is this is where we talk about the different programs services that they can offer we do split up based on the age group so when we talk about the burst 25 remember when we talked to mention add a bright beginning this is going to be from the parents side where they might see that's actually a resource that we can use it goes through end links a few different website once again as we're rebuilding this parents and family section we are kind of rating through the different resources and adding some so you sure I see a pretty big difference just give us like two more months and it'll be beautiful so please make sure you bookmark this to come back I'm going to can hear when we start getting into Kinder to 5th grade I wanted to come in here Jeremy your presentation is a little bit later today yes yeah okay so I'm going to give a little bit of shout out to Jeremy if you were in the TX yell the my training yesterday for the taxel portal you will know that I show me TobyMac but I might have done a little bit of a shout-out for the resources the K-12 educational resources where I was just saying how amazing they are one of the things that we I have learned is that some of the most wonderful resources that we have our little bit buried right now so for example I will say this I'm sorry I should have said this if you come in to the resource section from the main menu this is quite literally a compilation of all of the different resources that we share throughout the site in one place so you'll notice the academic support out-of-school youth assistance in preparation for after graduation in each of those Main all of the links that we have are going to be right here so one of them that I wanted to show and if just just a brief just a brief little let's take a look at it is K12 resources it is open to all migratory students and families Across the Nation it was built for those Texas students but as they're moving to locations hopefully they can take them this product these Resources with them you just simply create a account anyone can create an account you don't be a teacher or anything like that you'll just get your information and you can create an account and have access to some really good resources both reading and math through grade 2 grades 3 to 12 right now we only have reading but by the end of this school year we should have the math resources ready for grades 3 to 5 and then each year will be adding another grade bucket I'm not going to go into detail cuz mr. Jeremy will be doing that a little bit later but I just wanted to give a shout out I love this resource I wish I had known about this resource because it really is something great that students can take with them if they're having to leave school for a few weeks at a time and if their parents are not Spanish or English speaking there is Spanish versions of everything so that they can be working with their students on their homework and support them even more so so just a little shout-out for that please check out the K-12 educational start this message Jeremy I won't talk any more about it but like I'm going to brag on that cuz it's an amazing resource okay we're doing good on time so I'm going to hop. we're here to the academic support really quick when we get to the 6 through 12 you'll notice that we haven't broken up into attendance State assessment parent-teacher conferences and graduation requirements we also have all of the various links that might be useful for family family and didn't this is one of those things that win we implement the we can call it an overhaul sometimes I like to use the word facelift parents and family section it's good it's great it's been through some life and now it's just going to go for a little facelift we're just going to let you know fight a little bit and when you see this you'll see that we really trying to focus on making it cleaner crisper much more concise for parents and family to grab the information that they need I do I'm going to come over here to the assistance in preparation for after graduation so we actually go into the very options of what students might choose to do after they graduate from high school many of our migratory students are coming from families in which their parents did not complete high school or did not go to colleges to them many of them are those first-generation college students so we go into the various types of post-high school education whether that be a vocational or a training program I was told my students please I don't care what you study After High School just get some sort of you know knowledge and you can apply that to a job I'm so we go through each of these when we do the overhaul you'll see we've resource we've linked more resources specific to where they can go to find colleges and universities near then based on the cost the program something that I talked about yesterday a little bit of my presentation was something called the Texas reality check which really goes through the different universe and the program that they offer and what kind of money those students can make within their chosen career so that way they're really being thought smart with the amount of money that they're spending on their education and the amount of money that they can make post-graduation and I do want to come back here one more time to the resource page when we come to the resources please know that we still have those same videos from the the current homepage so if you are going to take this resource back to your area please know that this is probably going to be your best friends to find what you need quickly for right now once we do our little facelift you be able to do that a lot nicer but not nicer but more quickly but for right now this is going to be your best friend I really want to point out this Texas Family helpline so if those families are struggling this is going to be where they want to call to get help and more information about the educational Support Services should I mention anything else on this one well I just want Isaiah because they're you keep mentioning the overhaul and I just want to assure people who have been using it we were very careful to include all of the information so we're not we haven't cut anything ever Mining and simplifying we're basically just simplifying language and taking big blocks of text and trying to put them make it more intuitive for users to find what they need rather than having to read through a dumb text but everything that way there will still be there okay so I'm at this point I'm right on an hour I'm so we just hit the hour mark I'd like to give you guys maybe about five to seven minutes to hopefully explore the site I know that earlier in the chat someone mentioned that they found sure is going to be sure that someone said that they found the ID and are manual so I want to give you guys about 5 minutes to explore the site and then see which resource or page that you can take back and share with your team with your school's and hopefully we can share Karen yes I was going to say that I enjoyed this song session because you know when I visit a family you know they ask me for a resource I just Googled something up and give it to them you know and really quick and I'm really enjoying this page because I can add them to the gets through this page you don't see what they're looking for they've also asked me for services for p babies you know that's a little bit about the ABB service you know but to really give them I better understanding of it you know I could open it up and show them you know this is what but they BB service is all about you know so I kind of want to go with Ms item and send right now a very often within our pact we hear feedback from our parents that they want additional resources on mental health or connecting with Community agencies for to tell the related services and so having this portal at the resources that you have linked in here under your health and mental health piece that is very very useful I think this is Stephanie something that we could push out to our families when we meet with them to go over those resources within the pack Siri and she says that I'm wondering for our parents and families resource I don't know if we actually have a lot of those on the parents and families side when it comes to mental health I know that we have them on the L and the ESC side so that's something I think we actually have a meeting next week to kind of go through those couple Pages or at the end of February so I like the fact that you mentioned that mental Mental Health Resources because that would an easy additional item to put here I know that from my work on the other side of the aisle on the English Learners side we learned about some great reads mr. grant called here for taxes and they actually have mental health resources in terms of finding care care providers who speaks your language and they also have some income and virtual like coffee hours both in English and Spanish so that parents can kind of have that open dialogue about mental health together and I always think about one of our parents who was on a meeting literally in her tractor and it's one of those things like that's the great opportunity to say that like hey you don't have to go travel somewhere but we can help you find those Mental Health Resources so that thank you dr. Gonzalez for that one I was just going to answer it so they are and the parents and families but they're right now sort of hidden in under out of school use but I did and I saw that and so I went straight to that and it's a little and with a drop down and so once you click on that what I love is that it immediately links them to the National Alliance on Mental Illness do not need a big organization that provides a lot of horses and they also have information about suicide prevention which I think is very important as well so there's a mental health clinical is protected as well to good resources and yes it's on the old is why page but it is accessible to Pham and very useful Irrelevant for sure awesome.
